many parables using the natural surroundings of the Sea of Galilee as
illustrative material. Some of these parables include the Parable of the
Sower, Parable of the Weeds, Parable of the Mustard Seed and Yeast, Parables
of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl, and the Parable of the Net. |

Jesus travels to the
other side of the Sea of Galilee (the northeast side) and performs many
miracles there. He stills the storm during the trip, heals the demonic man by
sending the evil spirit into a herd of pigs. |

Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:31-44; Luke 9:10-17; John 6:1-15 -
Jesus crosses the lake
again to pray, but great crowds follow Him. He performs the miracle of
feeding the 5000 people. |

Matthew 14:22-36; Mark 6:45-56; John 6:16-21 -
Jesus attempts to return
to the other side of the lake, but strong winds hamper the effort. In the
midst of a storm and in the middle of the night, Jesus comes to the disciples
walking on the water. They arrive at the shore and Jesus heals many people
who have been waiting for Him. |

Jesus feeds 4000 people
in the Galilee region. |

After the resurrection,
Jesus meets His disciples in Galilee. The tremendously moving encounter
between Jesus and Simon Peter takes place along the shore on the Sea of
Galilee. |
