General Gordon of Khartoum was one of the first people to draw attention to this site as a possible location of "Skull Hill" (Golgotha/Calvary) due to the unique rock formation in the hill that resembles a human skull.  Many believe this is the authentic location of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.
