– DVD video chapter – Elah Valley

– Location –

The valley of Elah, which lies below the ancient city of Azekah, is the site of the battle between David and Goliath (1 Sam. 17).  The Philistine army was camped near Azekah, while the Israelites were on the other side of the valley. 

– Scripture –

·         Joshua 10:9-11 - Joshua chases the five kings from Gibeon as far as the Elah valley.

·         1 Samuel 17 - The Israelites meet the Philistines in the Valley of Elah.  David defeats Goliath, the Philistine from Gath, in one of the most famous battles in history. 

– Questions –

1.     Had David ever killed animals to protect his sheep?

2.     What armor did David wear?

3.     How many stones did he pick up to go face Goliath?  Why?

4.     Did this act change David?  Did it change King Saul?  Did it change history

5.  Can God do very great world – changing events with very small people and things?
